Car MechanicAs a car mechanic, one of the most important pieces of advice we can give you is to get your vehicle fixed as soon as there’s a problem with it. This will prevent the issue from getting worse and damaging other parts of your car. Here are three signs that indicate you need to let a car mechanic at our shop take a look at your car right away.

1.   Your Check Engine Light Turns On- When your check engine light turns on, it’s easy to panic. However, keep in mind that an illuminated check engine light could mean a variety of different things are wrong, some of which are more serious than others. For example, it could be a sign that there’s a problem with your catalytic convertor or simply that your gas cap is loose.

2.   Smoke Starts Coming Out From Underneath Your Hood- Your car should never have any type of smoke coming out from underneath its hood. In many cases, a smoking vehicle could indicate that your car is overheating. If you drive while your car is overheated, you could do significant damage to your engine.

3.   Your Car Starts Leaking- When you go out to your car in the morning to get to work, there shouldn’t be any major leaks underneath it. If you find that there’s always a pool of fluid underneath your vehicle, it’s best to bring it into our shop to have a car mechanic inspect it. However, keep in mind that in the summer months when your run the air conditioner in your car, a little water dripping from beneath your vehicle is normal.
