Driving around town or to work, you’re bound to hit a pothole every now and then! You also might accidentally run over a curb while parking or take a turn too quickly. There are many simple and everyday things like these that can throw off your wheel alignment, and most are so small that we miss them entirely. However, when your wheel alignment is off, your car will generally give you a few signs to watch out for — all you need to do is make sure you are listening to the signals!
One of the easiest ways to check for wheel alignment is to simply pay attention to your driving. While in your car, head to an empty parking lot. Once there, turn your wheel so that it is centered and then drive slowly. If your car begins to veer in another direction besides straight ahead, your wheel alignment is off. If your car starts to vibrate or tremble while you are driving, that can be another signal your car is trying to give you.
Another way to listen to your vehicle is to check your tires. When your wheel alignment is off, the tires can start to wear unevenly. You can even try spray painting a line around your tires to see which paint wears off first if you aren’t able to tell alignment from tread alone.
Here at Highway Tire Auto & Lube, we would love to help alignment issues. Our family-owned and operated business has nearly two decades of experience in the area, so please let us check your wheel alignment today.
